stereotypes
Graffiti has had many negative stereotypes projected onto it, but it also encourages stereotypes, cliches. The technical mastery is boundless, so great to see. Territorial pissing is a low blow especially when it came from an elitist like Hughes. Wouldn't you want to piss on a piece of the urban world to make it yours? What can you have if not some contact with the world you live in? Some connection. The elite don't want to see scribble or other mania. The condition of property is never open, it is closed. The door is not open, you try and pry it open, is there nothing behind it to see? All we can do is piss, piss on the doors.
