I saw the Type show, I really liked Atome's work. Very nice style and flow, he has created something Islamic and open to interpretation, The line work worked on its own and then the dimension kicked in that was a great effect and hard to pull off but worked. Great! I think the colour pallette really worked to, he really stood out from the pack. The collaboration by Dmote and Merda was good as well but not particularly different, great show. Definitely a hipster vibe but nice as well.

I was hit by a bus. I started a new art based site to highlight my art practice including video-stills, video, digital zines as well as printed zines and anything ridiculous that comes to mind including my aerosol work named after me!!!!! http://derekjamescarter.com gosh I am wonderful. I can't wait to blather away. I will mainly keep this site graffiti only and cut down on the blah blah. Thanks for visiting and keep visiting there will be lots of graff stuff coming soon, I want to put up my old bud MrDoze as well.
stereotypes

Graffiti has had many negative stereotypes projected onto it, but it also encourages stereotypes, cliches. The technical mastery is boundless, so great to see. Territorial pissing is a low blow especially when it came from an elitist like Hughes. Wouldn't you want to piss on a piece of the urban world to make it yours? What can you have if not some contact with the world you live in? Some connection. The elite don't want to see scribble or other mania. The condition of property is never open, it is closed. The door is not open, you try and pry it open, is there nothing behind it to see? All we can do is piss, piss on the doors.

I got to see some Android tablets, not bad, very tech. They have "this is technology" written all over them, the interface is still pretty point and click with arrows to go back etc. I personally prefer the iPad as it is not so tech, simple to use, but I like the Android tech vibe, they would be great for fiddling with and seeing how you could get different versions of Linux on them even though Android is from Linux I would like to see Ubuntu rocking on one....nice
